General Banking – Leading City Practice 5+

When our client is described as “a leader”, a “top City firm” or the “go to firm of choice”, it is fair to say that, both the partners and associates live up to the commentary and praise. Regardless of your specialism, if you have ever worked in the City you will know this firm. Similarly, if you have worked on global transactions in the City, you will know of them. They have a reputation for providing high quality work and training up extremely capable lawyers of varying specialisms.
They have built a banking and finance practice, that is second to none. Rhyming off the extensive client list, the partners take in their stride, the simple fact that they are undoubtedly one of the highest performing groups in the City let alone the firm. The work is fast moving, technical, bespoke, real world and practical. There is no space here for a backroom lawyer. As such you will work on a broad array of work including real estate finance, acquisition finance, derivatives, debt financing and restructuring. You will also be encouraged to get involved with business development and marketing initiatives.
You will have experience of the areas described above and come from a well-regarded City or regional firm. You will be UK qualified, currently be in permanent UK employment and have strong academics (minimum 2:1 from a good University and As and Bs at A-Level or equivalent).
RESTRUCTURING 3+ US FIRM

As a US firm with a long standing presence in London, this client has long established itself as a firm that provides high end work, international clients and a career mentoring scheme second to none. With home grown talent and impressive lateral hires, the London office is one of the most impressive offerings from any global law firm in the City.
The restructuring team advise institutional lenders, creditors, insolvency practitioners and equity investors. As the successful candidate you will get access to acquisitions and disposals of distressed debt, company voluntary arrangements, banks rescues and reconstructions, asset tracing, fraud, administrations, liquidations and cross border restructurings.
The work will be both contentious and non-contentious. The partners are open to either background or a mix. You will have business development exposure and be happy to oversee more junior members of the team.
